Constance Benson: Sickle Cell Story's ROAD2THECURE
Let me introduce myself, my name is Constance Benson (but you can call me Constance) and I was born with Sickle Cell Anemia (type SS).
I am the 10th adult in the United States of America (and possibly the world) to be cured of Sickle Cell Anemia. I am also the first person to ever be cured of Sickle Cell Anemia under a new and highly experimental study (the STRIDE-HCT study), which was conducted by Emory University Hospital's Doctor Edmund Waller.
I created this website to share my unique story and experiences on the road to being cured of Sickle Cell Anemia. This website is dedicated to showing the entire journey from beginning to end and to give others hope! I know that the world can be intimidating and that man will say that you cannot make it but if you would just give it to God, He will see you through!
My goal is to bring the worlds’ attention to:
1) Sickle Cell Anemia, which is a disease that affects people of all ethnicities all over the world.
2) The infinite uses of Bone Marrow Transplants, as a means to cure various diseases such as: Sickle Cell Anemia and various cancers.
So turn the page and share in my journey!
